Whispers of a Caged Bird
Poetry and Art
Collaboration
By Shamim Khan
In hues of sorrow, the brush does sway,
A bird in a cage, painted in clay.
Watercolor whispers, secrets unfold,
A tale of solitude, quietly told.
Wings of longing, bound by despair,
Feathers of hope, frayed in the air.
Eyes that glimmer, a distant gleam,
Trapped in a canvas, lost in a dream.
Soft strokes of browns, mingling with tears,
Capturing the essence of silent fears.
A cage of shadows, a heart confined,
Each line in detail finely defined.
Lonely whispers, echo through time,
In every corner, in every rhyme.
Brushes move with a gentle plea,
Crafting a scene of what could be.
The bird sings not, its voice subdued,
Bound by the cage, a somber mood.
Life’s cruel embrace, a binding space,
Yearning for freedom, a trace of grace.
In each brushstroke, a piece of the heart,
A silent cry, a work of art.
A watercolor of a bird, so frail,
Telling a story of a soul’s travail.
Trapped in solitude, yet longing to fly,
Dreams of freedom painted in the sky.
In the cage of colors, emotions blend,
A poignant tale, without end.
